What is inside the packs?

Inside the packs are a blend of herbs and natural grains. The contents we use have been tried and tested to have a neutral odor and heat retention. Our Ultra Body Wrap will stay hot for 45 minutes or longer. A variety of herbs and essential oils are used including lavender flowers. Different combinations of herbs and essential oils are used in our different product categories. Our heat wraps and heat packs are also available unscented.

Are all grain packs the same?

Many of the heat packs on the market today are either ineffective or unsafe. Warm Buddy™ products combine aromatherapy with moist, long lasting heat which makes them a superior heat pack. We have created a wide range of products to assist in comforting a variety of symptoms.

How long do packs hold the heat?

The Neck Wraps hold heat for 30 - 45 minutes. Body Pillows and Therapy Wraps for 1 hour or longer. Smaller packs should be heated for approximately 30 seconds. It is important to note that products containing polyester ball fiber should NOT be heated!

How do I heat a Warm Buddy™?

Place the pack in a microwave for the prescribed time (heating instructions come attached to every Warm Buddy™ product). Heating times will vary with the power of the microwave. Products are to be heated on HIGH. The heat packs should reach room temperature before re-heating. For use in an oven, wrap the pack in aluminum foil and heat approximately 30 minutes at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

My Warm Buddy™ is damp after I heat it?

Because Warm Buddy™ heat wraps and inner heat packs contain natural grains they release moisture when heated. This moisture will be pronounced upon the first few heatings. If the dampness is bothersome heat the inner pack separately for the first 5 heatings.

How do I cool a Warm Buddy™?

Place the product in a plastic bag and put in the freezer for 1 - 4 hours, depending on the size of the product and the desired temperature. The plastic bag will preserve the aromatherapy effect.

How is your organic fabric certified and what is its origin?

The organic cotton we use in our Body Wraps, Baby Blankets, Eye Pillows, and Warming Blankets is certified organic by a non-profit organization called Skal. Skal is a Dutch company and uses the EKO symbol to certify that cotton has come from a certified organic producer of organic cotton. The organic fabric that Warm Buddy Company uses is manufactured in Canada.

How do I use aromatherapy?

Add a few drops of essential oil to the inside pack after heating. If the product is used for treatment on the eyes, then the oils should be placed in the corner of the pack - to avoid contact with the eyes.

Which oils do I use?

A wide variety of essential oils are available. Choose your favorite scent for an amazing aromatic experience. Lavender is commonly used to provide comfort from stress and headaches. Eucalyptus is best for colds. Our Warm Buddy™ Anti-Stress formula is great for soothing the symptoms of stress and headaches. Our Serenity blend is a very popular scent, and is used in the Aromatherapy Eye Pillow.

Are packs washable?

Most Warm Buddy™ products have washable covers; this includes all our Spa Wraps, Neck Wraps, Warming Blankets and Body Wraps. Hand washing is recommended due to velvets, soft furs on Warm Buddy animals and assorted designer fabrics.

Are Warm Buddy™ products safe?

- Warm Buddy™ heat packs have been manufactured in Canada since 1996. They have undergone extensive testing with no adverse reactions or reports of any problems to date.

- Warm Buddy™ heat wraps are safer, easier to use and conform to the body unlike hot water bottles. They provide a penetrating, soothing, moist heat which is enhanced by the addition of aromatherapy.

- Use our packs over and over. Under daily use the product can last for many years.
