Companionship, security and warmth are vital to a child’s sense of well-being.  To a child, a stuffed animal can be a trusted companion, because, as author George Eliot sates, “Stuffed’ Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.”  They just provide a sense of security and friendship.  Actually, author George Eliot was talking about pets; but to a child a stuffed animal can be as important as a pet.  They are a constant friend who isn’t afraid of the dark, a new baby sitter or a scary television show.  Stuffed animals make wonderful companions for any tense situation, whether it’s the first day at daycare, a sleepover at a new friend’s house or to comfort your child’s friend who’s sleeping over for the first time.
